Hello! I've struggled with this over the past few days, but ultimately decided, it couldn't hurt to list this to see if I couldn't trade it for a more suitable option for me, or sell it, to allow me to purchase 'that' something. I recently traded for this gorgeous, near mint condition dress watch, and were it just a 'smidgen' bigger, it would be perfect--for me--that is.
So, I decided to look into grabbing a watch that I can wear with dressier-type outfits, but I don't necessarily need that 'prototypical' dress watch. If you are looking for that, then this meets all the required criteria--8mm thin to fit under those cuffs; 38.5mm case for that same reason; very classical look with roman numerals; and that alligator print leather strap.
Yet, the best part of this timepiece is what is 'under the hood'--the newer Longines Caliber L888.2 Movement with 25'200 vph / 3.5 Hz with an outstanding 65 hrs PR. I'll also include the aftermarket Milanese 20mm bracelet, which 'dresses it down' a smidge, for less formal situations, yet looks perfect, as it was designed for this particular model.
All this, to go with that Longines brand quality and heritage. I am listing this to sell for $595 OBO (USPS Prioirty Shipping included / PayPal pay method); I would be interested in trading this for a comparable 'dressy-type' diver, or even aviation/nautical-styled timepiece. (I'm not going to bother stating that the 'trade value' is higher, because honestly, if the value has a similar sales value, won't the trade value also be similar??
I'd prefer something like what Hamilton had a few years back, like the Jazzmaster Seaview Day/Date Automatic, or maybe and NTH Antilles, or other similarly-designed SuperCompressor-styled Diver. It needs to be at least 40mm, but preferably, not larger than 43mm, but it really depends on the styling.
Here are the 'stats' on this model...
