Some rusting on the GMT hand and it is running fast. It could be the battery, but it could also use a service as the service history is unknown. The battery I installed is 1.5v I believe, but I think you can purchase correct 1.35V Accucels instead. It has an engraving "SHS" on the back and I asked the previous owner about it and he/she stated the following:"I did see the SHS his name was Steven Spivey (several yearsdeceased) He retired a major from the air force and flew as a private pilot after he retired for the Stevens family here in Little Rock. They were stationed in Okinawa in 1965, they had some furniture custom made by designer Ricardo Lynn and had it delivered to them there, I know that from a receipt for the furniture. Other than that I know very little."I have no way to confirm this, but I thought it was a very cool story to go with the watch and it matches up with the period.
As with any vintage watch, I would not recommend any exposure to liquids. Please PM me with any questions. I have plenty of positive references here and other sites.Thank you!
